JahMedicine x Oboogie Keep It Hip Hop....Keep It Brooklyn

Anytime dope music is released, I am overjoyed. Especially when it comes to hip hop. I try to move with the times, but there are many elements..basic, but very essential elements that I feel the new generation has somehow neglected or swept under the rug. The Flyest Moments Of My Life brings forth some Hip Hop Relief for me indeed. My homie, OBoogie and his brother Jahmedicine both natives of Brooklyn, have united forces and created this phenomenal project. Definitely Hip Hop, but with a whole world approach as you can hear elements of  influences like Afrobeat, Samba, and even Bossanova. I can't even put into words how ecstatic I am about the fact that these brothers have decided to share their gifts and talents with the world. Long time coming and not a moment too soon! All my hip hop heads out there, THIS IS FOR YOU!!!! Thank Me Later!!

Introducing NEX MIND

While visiting Jamaica, I had the pleasure of linking with this new and upcoming artist Nex Mind. We sat and listened to some of his work and I immediately was ready to put some work in and do what I could to expose my audience to this young talent. We managed to get some recording done, phootshoot, and complete two music videos! Check the two music videos below and keep your eye on this brother Nex Mind and Nex Mind Musik. Big Up to GWeeddo, another amazing talent-native of Jamaica, residing in Canada.

SEAN SCOTT:: Hip Hop Lives

This Atlanta born, New York raised MC is definitely making waves on the hip hop scene. His song "Been Waiting" which rebirths the classic Noreaga joint "Banned From TV" has just the right formula and even has been co-signed by Noreaga himself. Keep your eye on this cat!!

Artist Bio::
Atlanta born, New York raised hip-hop artist Sean Scott is the next big thing to come out of New York City. His calm, laid back style mixed with witty over the head punch lines, and an excellent ability to paint pictures with his lyrics makes every song come to life. Sean’s diverse style has been influenced by some of hip-hop’s elite such as Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Jay-Z and Kanye West.

During his childhood, Sean was always surrounded by hip-hop and various genres of music. Due to his father’s connections in the hip hop industry, Sean was always just an ear shot away from hip-hop music. While most children at the age of six and seven were playing outside on Saturday, Sean spent every morning with his mother listening to iconic groups such as The Sylvers and Sly and The Family Stone. The upbeat tempos and sound of live instruments are what attracted Sean the most to music. These sounds inspired him to begin writing at such a young age.

Though Sean has been writing for most of his life, he did not record his first record until the age of seventeen at Magic Studio in the Bronx. Even though his first time in the recording booth wasn't that great, Sean showed a lot of promise. As time went by and with the help of friends and family, he slowly began to mold himself as an artist. This maturation led to him recording and releasing his debut street album, My Inception, which featured production from Pav Bundy (Jadakiss, The Lox, Styles P, Missy Elliott). Sean plans on releasing his second project, ScottSZN, this year with the production being handled by 12 Keyz (French Montana, Lil Wayne, Alessis Cara, Uncle Murda) and DJ SwanQo (Cardi B, Sage English).

R.E.D.SOUL SESSIONS with Yahzarah:: What A Moment

I decided to let this go this week. This is a late night session we had a while back. After recording the song of intent, up and coming producer Carlyle (Young Pharaoh) began to play this track he'd been working on. It was just a simple vibe track, but dope, where he looped a sample from Erykah Badu's Otherside Of the Game and laced it with some boom bap drum patterns. Yahzarah, sitting off in a corner began to nod her head back and forth,she was like, "Man I used to love this song (speaking of the Badu song). Shoot...I even like how you're freakin it"
With the lights dimmed, she began to scat, and sing as she raised up from her seat and make her way up to the microphone. "Wait...start it over?" she closed her eyes and began to belt out thoughts from the dome. I was always holding the camera-documenting the session. This is what birthed out of that cipher.

ANOTHER MOMENT FROM THAT SESSION
