Raekwon::: On Rebirthing Classics

Raekwon seems to be on a role these days as it relates to dusting off the classics. Back in the day, it was a popular thing to have the dj spin and manually loop a dope r&b/soul track with no added preservatives and have the MC just drop bars. From James Brown to Roy Ayers to Kool and The Gang, hip hop helped to keep alive some of the most profound creations in music. So far,Rae, has laced bars over "Give Me Your Love" by Sylvia Striplin, the Isley Brothers' classic Footsteps in the Dark, Faith Evans' You Used To Love Me, Gwen Gutherie's Close To You, Michael Jackson's Got To Be There, The Gap Band's Yearning For Your Love, Rene and Angela's I'll Be Good, and Fantasia's When I See You.  This week he unveiled what I would call a tease/freestyle where he flips an old Stevie Wonder Classic titled Hey Love. And of course I've got those downloads for you. Simply click on the titles in bold print above.
